Thermal Camouflage Prototype Demonstration

At the Eurosatory exhibition, SILMOR presented for the first time a camouflage technology prototype titled “Visual and Thermal Camouflage Technology for Military and Civil Applications.”

The exhibition provided an excellent opportunity to engage in discussions with industry experts and potential end users. (IR) camouflage technology is being developed to make military vehicles and ground structures less detectable, both visually and by reducing their signature to thermal sensing systems.

At the exhibition, SILMOR presented a joint innovation project with the Institute of Solid State Physics, University of Latvia, demonstrating a prototype of a new-generation infrared camouflage material.

Together with the Latvian Institute of Solid State Physics, we are developing our concept for a new generation of infrared camouflage materials. Our goal is to build an ultra-thin coating of approximately 1 micrometer that absorbs heat generated by equipment and re-emits it outside the primary detection range of infrared sensors. Though, effectively blending the thermal signature into background noise.

What stood out most was the strong interest from potential users, industry partners, and research organizations. Discussions focusing on practical applications, integration, durability, and the role of advanced materials in reducing thermal signatures across platforms.

The conversations at Eurosatory confirmed the growing importance of innovative material solutions in modern defense capabilities. We appreciate the valuable exchanges and look forward to continuing the dialogue with new and existing partners.
