From Prototype to Commercialization: Enabling Next-Generation Camouflage Systems

As part of the project “Visual and Thermal Camouflage Technology for Military and Civil Applications”, our team visited FESPA Global Print Expo 2026 in Barcelona. Goal was to explore the latest advancements in industrial printing technologies, functional materials, and scalable manufacturing solutions.

The objective of the visit was to identify technologies that can support the transition of our camouflage prototype from development to industrial-scale production and commercialization.

Functional Materials and Adhesive Systems for Advanced Surface Engineering for Camouflage Systems

The exhibition brought together leading global suppliers across key technology domains relevant to advanced camouflage systems. We explored functional coatings and high-performance films for rigid substrates. With solutions from companies such as 3M, HEXIS, and Arlon Graphics, including anti-glare coatings, protective laminates, and structured surface films.

In the field of adhesives and lamination systems, strong industrial capabilities were observed from 3M Industrial Adhesives & Tapes, Avery Dennison, ORAFOL, and Neschen. These companies, enabling durable bonding, removable solutions, and lightweight structural assembly approaches relevant for modular camouflage systems.

In addition, technical textile and camouflage solutions were explored with companies such as Kornit Digital, Brother Industrial Printing, and Epson Professional Printing, supporting the development of advanced textile-based camouflage systems, protective covers, and tactical fabric applications.

Overall, the visit confirmed strong industrial readiness across multiple technology domains and highlighted a well-established ecosystem of potential partners for scaling next-generation camouflage solutions into industrial production and commercialization.
